Coclauri de Bălnaca is the name under which S.C. A CORE S.R.L. organises guided recreational ATV and e-bike tours in the village of Bălnaca, Șuncuiuș commune, Bihor county – in the Crișul Repede valley, at the foot of the Pădurea Craiului Mountains. We offer organised, safe and accessible outdoor experiences for locals and visitors to the area.

About the project
The project set up a new non-agricultural business in a rural area – outdoor recreation and leisure services (NACE 93.29 – Other amusement and recreation activities) – based at Bălnaca village no. 302, Șuncuiuș commune. The service is not simply equipment hire but a complete experience: booking, safety briefing, protective equipment, a tour led by a guide, and equipment checks before and after every use.
Project objectives
- Diversifying leisure services in the Bălnaca – Șuncuiuș area with a new service of guided recreational ATV and bike tours.
- Creating a full-time, permanent job in a rural area, within the territory of the Zona Aleșd – Valea Crișului Repede Local Action Group (LAG).
- Generating income from the services and continuing the business after the monitoring period ends.
What the funding made possible
- 3 ATVs and 4 pedal-assist e-bikes for the recreational tours;
- protective equipment: ATV helmets, knee and elbow pad sets, bike helmets and high-visibility vests;
- this promotional website, with a visual identity, SEO and online booking;
- one new job – tour operator / guide.
How the tours are organised
Every tour is led by a guide riding their own ATV or e-bike. On ATV tours, 2 ATVs are available for participants (up to 2 people per ATV); on e-bike tours, 3 e-bikes. Tours start and finish at Bălnaca village no. 302, follow existing roads and were planned so that they do not enter protected natural areas (checked on the NATURA 2000 platform and with the environmental authority).
Project implementation period: 24 months from the signing of the financing contract.
